Thanksgiving - One Student's Perspective
Dear Cirkled In community,
It comes around every year, but this year Thanksgiving is different. The meaning of Thanksgiving has only grown since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. COVID has hit the world in ways unimaginable, making this holiday evermore important to embrace what we are thankful for.
I would like to start off with just a few things I am grateful for.
I cherish the moments I have to spend time with my friends and family, whether it’s “dapping up” one of my friends or hopping on weekly phone calls with my parents.
Those are the people I love the most, and without them I wouldn’t be the person I am today.
I cherish the opportunity I have to pursue academics. College is expensive, and I’m lucky to be an individual who can attend without struggling against financial aid ( if you join Cirkled In, this may help you achieve financial help with college as well :) ). This is a chance at learning I won’t take for granted.
I cherish my time on the track and field team. Though the 6 am wake up times seem brutal, I’m happy I can exhale all the stress of my life while barreling down the runway.
Now it is your turn. What are you thankful for? Many of you reading this may be in school or applying for college. If so, take a step back and spend time to think about what you are truly grateful for. For those not in these groups, step back from work or whatever occupies your day and give time to think about all that was given to you. Make this a time to remember the happiness you have had in your life. Make this Thanksgiving holiday count.
Sincerely,
Andrew
