Congratulations, you’ve been accepted to a school you applied to! How do you feel? Excited? Nervous? Or a combination of every emotion? Believe us, we understand!
Once the initial excitement wears off, students can be asking themselves and their parents: Well what’s next? Here are some steps to take once you have that glorious acceptance letter in your hand:
FULLY read the acceptance letter
Self-explanatory, but this is not the time to skim or read just the first line. The acceptance letter will have need-to-know information including deadlines.
Evaluate your other applications
Where else have you been accepted to? What is still pending? As decisions roll in, it’s crucial that you stay organized in order to make the most informed decision about higher education.
What is the college offering?
Check out your award letter. Are they offering scholarships or financial aid? It’s important that as a student, you run these numbers by your family so together, you can make the best decision financially.
Research groups of admitted students to the school
See who else could be joining your class! You never know, you may find your next roomie or BFF.
Accept or decline admissions by the due date
College admissions season is SO busy and there are a million things on your plate. However, keep track of deadlines set by schools to let them know if you’re coming or passing on their offer.
