Della Paloy - April 2020 "No Sweat" Scholarship Winner

Self-driven aptly describes Cirkled In’s April 2020 “No Sweat” Scholarship winner Della Paloy.  Her drive propelled her all the way to Kobe Japan where, as the winner of the Washington State Japanese Competition, she spent 10 days touring historical sites and immersing in the culture while living with a local family.  She was determined to go to Japan, and she did!

This self-drive is a theme that runs through all that Della has achieved.  Soon she will graduate from Roosevelt Highschool where she challenged herself by taking a variety of AP and Honor’s courses and has earned an impressive 4.33 weighted GPA and is a member of the National Honors Society.  In addition to her academic schoolwork she has pursued extracurricular activities including Japanese Culture Club (serving as President), marching band, pep band and wind ensemble.  In addition, she has over 200 volunteer hours under her belt.

For fun Della enjoys the outdoors.  She especially loves vising National Parks. One of her favorite National Parks is Mount Rushmore, because of the history that can be found there. The other is Olympic National Park located in her home state of Washington as its beauty is beyond description.   Additionally, every year she and her family visit Utah where they enjoy hiking and bird watching.

Della first learned of Cirkled In while attending the Northwest Women’s Show a few years go where Cirkled In had a booth.  She has found the platform easy to use and great for organizing her activities.  She is thrilled to have won the $2500 “No Sweat” scholarship and plans to use the money for college expenses.

This fall she will follow in her grandfather’s footsteps and attend Washington State University where she will embark in the study of Agricultural Economics and Japanese.  She hopes to pursue a career that involves trade between the state of Washington and Japan, an aspiration that took root when learning about US and Japanese trade discussions with her uncle.

Congratulations on all you have achieved Della – all of us here at Ciirkled In wish you the very best as you pursue your goals!
