There are Things to be Thankful for in 2020

Ah, 2020. What a year, right? For students, teachers, and parents alike, this year perhaps brought more challenges than ever.

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, we may rightfully be inclined to think about the COVID, tragedies, the election, and many more newsmaking topics that upended schools, college admissions, and homelife. However, we must take the time to think about and honor what 2020 has taught us.

For the first time in modern history, we were told to stay home and figure out a different way of living. Schools, colleges and universities were forced to find a way to educate students solely over Zoom. Families have been working around the kitchen table, juggling school, work, and a pandemic.

As we look back today, we are thankful for the healthcare workers who have sacrificed their comfort for months to help communities in need. We are thankful for store workers who give us access to food, clothes, and other supplies. Let’s not forget the USPS drivers, Amazon delivery workers, and postal workers who have worked countless hours to feed our online shopping habits and delivered our ballots. Teachers and parents, you are honored. Thank you for your countless contributions and keeping children, teens, and young adults educated, informed, and safe.

We are also thankful for those who are still with us today. As we gather around the Zoom Thanksgiving meal, we also keep those who have been lost this year close to our hearts.

In this difficult time, there are reasons to be thankful. That said, here at Cirkled In, we are thankful for students, parents, and educators for always working to make a difference, regardless of circumstances.

Wishing everyone a great holiday season.
