Eight Quick SAT/ACT Tips to Boost Your Confidence
We’re well into 2020—can you believe it? With SAT and ACT testing approaching, it can be a stressful time for parents and students. That’s why we’ve gathered 10 quick tips to help any student feel more confident while preparing for the big day.
Start a study group. Your peers are most likely stressed as well! Starting a study group (with a lot of pizza!) can be a helpful way to share tips and challenge each other.
Practice self-care. Between school, activities and studying, it can feel like you have no time to relax. Carve out time to put the books down for an hour and do something you genuinely enjoy.
Have balanced meals. Food can really impact how we feel! Before the test, be sure you’re eating balanced meals and snacks that promote good health. Try nuts, protein, veggies, or a yogurt.
Engage your family. Secluding yourself can be helpful but don’t forget about resources around you. How did your older sibling prepare for the test? Can your parents quiz you?
Create a relaxing study area. Aromatherapy diffuser? Check! Fresh water? Got it!
Set a schedule. DON’T CRAM FOR THE TEST! Give yourself plenty of time to study and digest the information.
Get back to basics. It never hurts to brush up on mental math skills or grammar.
Utilize resources. Don’t miss out on resources all around you. You’re not alone in this. A great start is the Online Practice Test from College Board. You can find ACT practice questions here.
