College Application Checklist 2021
Happy New Year! We’ve finally left 2020 behind and most are ready and eager to see what the new year has in store. As students head back to the last semester of their high school career, they’re starting off the year with more than resolutions on their mind: It’s time to submit college applications!
While some applied during early action, standard due dates are still looming. To ensure students are on the right track, we’ve compiled some tips and can’t-miss items students must consider before submitting their application.
Review the application: Did you fill out all of the sections?
Letters of Recommendation: Do you have a variety of people speaking on your behalf?
Essay edits: Have you had at least two other people look at your essay and give suggestions?
High school transcript: Ensure you know how to send and where to send it to!
Testing: What’s their policy on testing amidst the COVID-19 pandemic?
Review your FAFSA: You have to have at least one college listed to submit it. Remember, submit early!
Check your Cirkled In profile: You can share ALL of your accomplishments directly with your colleges of choice by creating a link!
Notify your counselor: They’re your counselor for a reason! Let them know you’re applying and have them look over your materials. An extra pair of eyes never hurts.
Check college guidelines: How are they holding classes during the pandemic? What do you need to know to be prepared during the review process and potential admission?
Once submitted, check application status to ensure they have received!
